Global Warming is REAL: "Resilience”

As the 10-year anniversary of the Global Warming is REAL exhibition approaches, we are prompted to revisit our original intentions for this event. We began by celebrating artists who found a venue for impactful creative expression. Early scientific warnings about humanity’s impact on the planet were largely met with skepticism. Today, however, the media and scientists highlight not only unfolding realities but also the remarkable resilience of nature, humanity, and the planet in adapting to change.

This year, we aim to focus on optimism. We invited artists to draw inspiration from the resilience found in themselves, in nature, and in our communities—emphasizing connection, adaptability, and hope as key creative drivers for this exhibition.

This exhibition is open to all expressions, as each person’s need to create on this theme is personal.  Our hope is that the subject matter is open and receptive to the good news from the collective, positive approach we face as a country and planet.

The exhibition opens at the Museum and launches online Sept 12 and runs through Nov 1 with an opening reception on Sept 12, noon - 3 pm
